Wanted to join in on the parkrun movement today so I got josh to come to Newy parkrun with me! Was honestly worried I wouldn’t even beat 25 so I’m pretty relieved even if it is a bad time - gotta start somewhere! Slowed a bit between the 3rd and 4th k’s but came home ok. A looooong way back.
Had a pretty average day at work and was feeling real run down so I just ran to the supermarket and walked home with food - trying this whole ‘listen to your body’ thing. Better than nothing though and felt a million times better after.
Just a game of tennis today (at midday on a ridiculously hot day...)
But I've also decided to enter the Melbourne Sprints! Prepping myself for a very demoralising weekend, but I was only allowed to enter if I go into it purely for the enjoyment (and my sanity) and have absolutely zero expectations - so that's what I'll do. It'll be incredibly frustrating but I'm realistic, so I'm just rool excited!
Joined the work team for the 'Corporate Cup' in Paramatta! So this is from work to the loop and back ~8k. You do a 6km loop along Paramatta river and through Paramatta Park every second week and submit times. A bit shitty submitting such a slow time when it's an ex-Olympian who's organising your work team, but apparently it's handicapped so I'm allowed to start off bad ;)
I felt the most alive today that i've felt in the last week so that was super exciting. Also felt like I contributed and that the team killed it, so that was also great.
Back home today for my appointment but still woke up really early so I thought I’d jog. Not feeling super spritely but I mustn’t have been going so bad, I did a loop I hadn’t done in ages and it was way quicker than I thought it’d be!
