orienteering race (NightO) 56:40 [3] ** 6.0 km (9:27 / km) +50m 9:04 / km
shoes: HH2
NightO on "Highway 23", a combination of Brickworks Park and the western end of Jesmond Park where the main road has been promised to go through for the last 50 years - still bush.
Took all of the minor track options to test my mapping at "competition speed" in the dark - at least faster than walking anyway - mapped track detail seemed to stand up and no major wanders reported except for one runner misinterpreting a driveway & going through private property to the top of the cliff on the brickpit - apparently his torch wasn't always strong enough to reach the bottom of the cliff.
Also took the "up & down" southern option on the long leg back to Brickworks Park - probably a slower option than the northern route, especially with the extra climb, and the unavoidable sets of steps on the path down the hill
