Orienteering 39:30 [3] 4.7 km (8:24 / km)
shoes: Inov8 x talon 212 #4 (blue)

SL1 at Wattle Ridge. Very slow and cautious in the beginning but kinda got into a bit. Lost time at 7 due to bad exit direction from 6, and a little bit at 8. Realistically I fluked 9, only came across it due to some good compass. Ended up 3rd in 21A behind Theo and Emil, but Stephen Craig 5 mins ahead in 35A. Happy with how I handled Wattle Ridge though, definitely classify that as a win for me over the map, clawing it back to 2-3!

Running 49:32 [3] 10.16 km (4:53 / km)
shoes: Nike Zoom Pegasus 31

Sugarloaf to Mt Vincent and back. Started out on the small track round the back of the loaf and was very surprised to find that it now has asphalt! Outrageous! Tried to scope out if you could get down the powerlines to Killingworth for a potential Ultraloaf I've been thinking about. The short answer is no.

Need to eat something in the arvo at work. The tank has been very empty when training lately.

Running 28:00 [3] 6.0 km (4:40 / km)
shoes: Nike Free 5.0 (red)

Killing time between Work and Netball. Ended up being not a good idea.

Netball 18:00 [3]
shoes: Nike Free 5.0 (red)

Debut game for Macey's Angels this season after our first round bye last week. I was pretty terrible at C giving away too much possession off the start and I got tired real quick. Was so happy to sub out at halftime. We got rolled as we were pretty rusty and the other team clearly was not. Great fun regardless and will be a highlight each week.

Out at The Range running Sunday's course. Tough without control flags although I do know most of the sites pretty well. Had a few hesitations and time losses where I was trying to make sure I was at the control. Had time loss at 6 mucking around in the green a little off the control. Also with exit direction to 10 through more green instead of to the track. Found it hard to concentrate a bit being tired after work. Anyway ended up just behind Rob and Stephens time but can't really compare without the same conditions. Should be a good contest this year.

Easy run for recovery. Tried to run on the grass as much as possible

Orienteering race 14:01 [5] 3.21 km (4:22 / km)
shoes: Nike Lunaracer 3

NOL sprint 3, Deakin University, Geelong. Thought I did a better job planning ahead and executing today, although I did somehow ignore my plan to 4 and lost time! Bit of a longer route choice to 18 and then caught by another dead end to 20, although it was hard to see on the map. Not so far down time wise today but placing around 15th again. 2nd stinger behind Aidan.
5 PM

Orienteering 15:07 [5] 3.14 km (4:49 / km)
shoes: Nike Lunaracer 3

NOL sprint 4, Kardinia College, Geelong. Really small complex map that I never felt comfortable on. Really struggled to process the detail and was always on the back foot with decisions and route choice. As a result some could have been better. Misinterpreted some olive green early and went around when in fact it wasn't olive green. Had to slow a lot to not collide with others but didn't have much running speed to give anyway. Well down again (16th) but again top Stinger.

Good fun set of races and a nice weekend away. I knew I would be off the pace as I try to get some speed happening again. Certainly a few sprint techniques I could work on as well. Stingers men copped a thrashing but hopefully we can do better at Easter with a stronger team!
