Orienteering race 48:42 [5] 8.18 km (5:57 / km)
ahr:181 max:194 shoes: Inov8 x talon 212 #4 (blue)

NOY 1 at Fairley Dams. Alright run but didn't feel fast or strong through the terrain in places. As soon as it got a little rough underfoot I was stumbling around like a rookie. Nav was alright but I was slightly off on a few, didn't really lose any time on them though. Hesitant coming into 15, wasn't quite sure how to attack it. Then got pushed by the green into 16 and found another control first. Didn't lose much time though. Good hit out before Easter.

Having looked at the splits now, I'm pretty happy with a few legs in particular. Was a fair amount quicker over the others through 4, 5, 6, which is where I didn't feel particularly good through the terrain. Good to be a min quicker 10 to 11, although I don't know who went around or straight. However on the common legs with the Hard Short, Josh was mostly a bit quicker than me.

Running race 17:41 [5] 5.0 km (3:32 / km)

Maitland parkrun. Not the best, didn't have time to warm up. Then didn't handle the cold air hitting my lungs very well. Had a lot of fluid coming up which sucked. Won comfortably though, no competition this week

O training at Southams Rd with Nic, Malin and Karen. Did 4 intervals of about 1.2km each. Nav wasn't as good as I would like. Got lazy on a few and completely switched off on the last loop and messed it up. Was a little tired by then though. Garmin ran out of battery towards the end so time and distance a rough guess.

Running 1:15:40 [3] 17.69 km (4:17 / km)
ahr:162 max:182 shoes: Nike Lunar Tempo

Run from Tenambit across the farms to Maitland and back. Pretty flat hence the fast km rate. Got rained on early so was drenched for the rest of the run. Legs don't seem to like more than 10k but my shoe choice and lack of running training probably has a lot to do with that. Easter long will obviously be harder than this but at least I know I can still run the distance.

Running 58:11 [3] 13.4 km (4:21 / km)
ahr:158 max:180 shoes: Nike Lunar Tempo

Evening run. Don't get to do many of these so enjoyed being out while the sun set. Felt like I was moving pretty well until about halfway when disaster struck in the form of a sudden upset stomach. Had to detour slowly to Greenhills and then opted to go directly home from there, which meant a boring run up Metford Rd in the dark. Still pace was ok and hip flexor didn't bother me so much, although I think I may have found a solution for it with the ol' foam roller.
