Orienteering race 47:53 [5] *** 6.7 km (7:09 / km)
shoes: Dads Inov8 x-talon 190

NOY 4 at Blue Gum Hills. Good course by Angus :) Started well but drifted well right to #3. It was ok in the end but I could have gone so much straighter. Lost 30 secs on #7, just overrunning it a little and getting confused in the rock faces. Caught Steve 4 mins at #13, then opened up along the road/track to #14. Overran #17 and lost another 30 secs but I felt like I also lost a bit of confidence there, for the rest of the course I felt really unsure and not as fast. Bit of a stupid route to #18 trying to avoid green, went through #21 and #20 to get there, then lost a little bit more time in the circle. Slow into #19 but the rest were good from here even if I didn't feel so confident about it. Felt really strong running today which was a bit surprising.

Control collection, did a loop from the assembly which was slow fiddling with locks and chains and signs. Then a second loop from the top of the map which was much faster, although I overran #17 for a second time picking it up!

Good run from dads through king Edward to bar beach. Then 3 reps of the bar beach hill, started raining which was nice
