Campus scamper, 2nd place

fast start off the line as people were trying to be up the front. continued a bit like this up towards Evatt house but by the time we were on the cycleway there was pretty much 4 of us left at the front. I was in 4th at this stage, and the leader was beginning to open a small gap to 2nd and 3rd.

Was slowly reeling in 3rd place and attacked on the uphill past ICT. was amused that this guy drifted over to my side of the path to try and block me. got past but he kicked back past me maybe 100m later. on the small uphill to architecture i attacked, got blocked but eventually got past again and made it stick this time. carried some momentum down through architecture and got past the bloke in second as well. down onto Don Morris walk and 1st was nearly 10 secs ahead. was hopeful that he would struggle on the hill up past engineering but i was the one that began to struggle. had opened up a small gap on 3rd but could feel him slowly drawing me back in as 1st was slowly drawing away. on the last stretch around the oval at the forum the bloke in 3rd kicked and was motoring me down, i tried to match it but he was still gaining. ended up a full sprint for the last 100m but managed to hang on to 2nd just. 1st place ended up being 15 secs ahead i think.

was happy with the run, didn't have much left to give at the finish, but felt pretty tough, i think the hills took more out of me than i thought they would

Run with rob from newy to merewether, hickson st water tower and return. Didn't feel good early on but improved later

ints at the oval. feeling pretty fatigued and the wind made it pretty tough. so only managed 5 x 400m on a 2 min cycle. was conscious of the fact that i still have 6 hours of scrubbing pots at work for today

HV Champs on new map on the opposite side of the link rd to brush ck. was physically tough and often hard to get some good hard running in. my legs felt pretty tired from the start though. started early so i could get to work by 12. reasonable run nav wise with only a few small misses. however i stacked it on some rocks coming into #5 and my compass came off, but i didn't notice until i'd punched 5 and went to get my exit direction. was only a couple of metres away but enough for me to lose where i'd stacked and lost nearly 3 mins looking for it in long grass. really annoying to lose time like that. and even more annoying to lose by 3 mins
