Note

just realised whilst organising my calendar this morning that i will be unable to run the park o final due to the fact that i will be in melbourne. really really annoyed
6 PM

Orienteering race 21:34 [5] * 4.4 km (4:54 / km)
shoes: Nike Free Run +3 (blue/red)

park o at boomerang park, raymond terrace. wasn't expecting the map to be too complex but some of the legs through the open trees kept you on your toes. and wasn't expecting the slightly bushy thicket area at all, where i actually had to properly navigate. so ended up being pleasantly surprised. thought the course was pretty good too. made a stupid error in overrunning 5, going instead to 16 which was nearby and i saw from a mile off, so was trying to plan ahead. splits show that i was a whopping 40 secs off the pace for that leg though it didn't feel nearly as long. also exit direction was bad out of 5 meaning i didn't run very straight to 6, and lost a little more time. other than that was pretty happy with my run, didn't make any other mistakes. distance is course distance because unfortunately my gps didn't start. very good event all up, thanks dave

control collection. made interesting by having to unlock the controls from the trees they were chained to, but i think its a pretty good idea to do this

feeling a bit better today, not risking running in the rain, don't want to get sick again

Orienteering race 22:06 [5] ** 4.03 km (5:29 / km)
(sick) shoes: Nike Free Run +3 (blue/red)

was feeling ok this morning when i woke up, so decided to run wednesdays park o. however i felt rubbish running and really struggled, especially in the second half of the course. as a result didn't even come close to kas' time, and even steve would have gotten one back on me. disappointing. nav was pretty good as you would expect seeing as i know the area pretty well ;) although on reflection i ran straight past 5 so would have lost some time there.

Running warm up/down 10:00 [3] 2.0 km (5:00 / km)
