x country at awaba. so as i was putting my shoes on i took a step and was like wow my ankle really hurts. and it kinda felt stiff as if i'd rolled it, but i hadn't. hoped it would go away as i warmed up but it was still there.

today was handicap again! was 3rd last to go out and started steadily and well. pain seemed to be more along the side of my right foot now instead of ankle but was bearable. however it got worse as i went along. about 3.5ks in, i got a bad stitch from my lunch, which i ate 2 hours before :S so i kept backing off the pace. this was on a nice downhill stretch too so i couldn't push along it either. got to the turn around, felt ok coming back up the hill but still had the stitch and my foot was hurting more and more. although in the last quarter the pain died away a bit and the stitch went and i had a good finish, but the damage had already been done, and i pretty much came last on handicap. didn't feel tired at all anywhere but wasn't pushing very hard.

after i finished and cooled down my foot hurt so much. currently icing at home. this puts a question mark on whether i will go to yambo tomorrow, at this stage i'm thinking i'll give it a miss but if i'll see how things are in the morning.

on a side note, my shoes are 200m away from being the most distance i've logged for one pair of shoes (the record being 1126.9km) so thats probably a factor for my problems

Running intervals 49:21 [4] 10.61 km (4:39 / km)
shoes: Nike Lunar Eclipse+ (blue)

just did some intervals out along brush farm rd. 15 mins warm up then 3 x 5 x 30sec ints with 30sec recovery, 2:30min inbetween sets. went to do a 4th set but after the 1st i came into a busy area where i had to stop start to cross roads so i jogged for a bit and then did a 2 min interval to finish. then jog home from there.

felt good, and was good to get some speed going

NOY 3 at mt sugarloaf. really nice day when i started but miserable, cold and rainy when i finished. go figure.
cautious start and was hesitant for the first 3 controls, including pulling up way too early for 3, so some time lost there. got pulled down towards the track 5-6 and lost time coming up the wrong gully from the bottom. missed 8 a little, and felt slow to 10. nailed 11 which some people struggled with but on route to 12 i helped a lady who hadn't found my 11 and then kinda lost contact after that, so some time lost there. pulled south to the track on the way to 15 and then missed it, more time lost. went below the bigger cliff at 17 and it was all vines which was crappy and nothing seemed to make sense down there either. climbed back up and found the control along further, although thinking that the control was in the wrong place now i look closely. cautious for the next 2, then contoured around the rockfaces to 20, which was good but apparently straight was also good. just slow through the last few controls, felt tired i guess.

so a lot of little time losses and i didn't feel like i was moving quickly at any stage. scraped a 6 second win. although i feel 45mins should have been achievable today
