cycling (SUBWAY!!) 1:30:00 [4] 20.5 km (4:23 / km) +250m 4:08 / km

Went for a slow ride with my sis into town (ate subway) and back. I decided to take the mountain bike for an added challenge (a decision I later regreted). My mountain bike skips gears constantly and wieghs 17kgs. : ( anyway. just keeping moving I guess. subway was good, thanks for askin.

running long 59:00 [3] 11.94 km (4:56 / km) +250m 4:28 / km
shoes: Nike Air Span+

Went for a longish run today. Took it fairly slow. I was just trying to get some k's under my belt. unfortunatly, as soon as it gets nice in orange the $@#%ing magpies come out. Attempted swoops = 2. quite good. :) ok. the time is fairly pathetic but it was heaps hilly and I was constantly watching for maggies.

Orienteering race (relays) 20:41 [5] *** 3.5 km (5:55 / km) +95m 5:12 / km
shoes: O shoes

I didn't really read the map a lot and payed for it a lot in the times. Also used josh's educational mini compass which gave me the worst exit direction of all time. couldn't really get motivated...

Orienteering race (aust long champs) 59:20 [5] ***** 6.9 km (8:36 / km) +225m 7:24 / km
shoes: O shoes

I CAME 3RD! yay! finally a good result. I slowed down heaps for this event and it proved to work. I think I was just orienteering slightly too fast for my nav. It all worked today (even though I thought I was coming somewhere around lastish). a tough course but I did it well.

Orienteering race (aust sprints) 16:04 [5] *** 2.3 km (6:59 / km) +25m 6:38 / km
shoes: Nike Air Span+

Never underestimate a sprint! AAAARRRRRRRGGGGHHHHHH!!!! ok. I had some really good splits. about 5 or six were fastest. but two huge mistakes cost me big time. I had to slow down, and I didn't. A lesson well learned. slow down and have a plan and watch your exit direction. I'm looking forward to the summer series club events which should really help my sprint orienteering and also give me an oportunity to be running with a map more often.

Intence sand castle building 1:30:00 [5]

We built a HUGE sandcastle. It was massive and believe me when I say it was an upper body work out. Josh decided we should combine some intervals into the sandcastle building so we did some 30 second sand shoveling intervals. We got some locals involved in the castle building. Stuff the great wall of china! Go to Hervey Bay and see the Great pile of sand. I guarantee you it'll still be there. Or maybe you could just look it up on google earth.

Orienteering race (schools relays) 51:47 [5] **** 6.1 km (8:29 / km) +110m 7:47 / km
shoes: O shoes

OK. This is another run that could have been great but ended up crap. I showed promise in the first 7 controls by actually catching up and running straight past the first placed newzealanders. But then I relaxed, and fluffed one up something severe. After that, I didn't hit a single control right on and everything went majorly pearshaped. #10 lost around 8 minutes. such a stupid mistake. Really pissed off with myself and can't apologise enough to the boys in the team. You have no idea how anoyed I am with that run. once again. Sorry boys.

Orienteering race (schools long champs) 1:13:30 [5] **** 8.5 km (8:39 / km) +220m 7:39 / km

A fairly hard course. I stuffed it up fairly badly. I should have been able to do at least a 60 minute time in that terrain but it didn't happen. I think a lot of it was to do with heat exorstion. I made stupid mistakes that I would never make normally and I felt so bad. Made a 180 directional error which took me around 500m to find. I think running m17-20s should really help with the longer courses and hopefully improve me with an added challenge. Next year! Next year! you watch.
