| Soccer warm up/down 15:00 [3] | ||
| shoes: Total 90 Soccer boots | ||
| Had an alright warm up but my warm down was near non-exsistent because I was lazy and it was cold. | ||
| Soccer 1:10:00 [4] | ||
| shoes: Total 90 Soccer boots | ||
| Lost 4-Nil (or maybe it was only 3-nil?) but were unlucky cause they scored 2 quick within 5min of half tim and about the same at the end of the game. Our keeper did make some pretty mad saves though, like saving an awesome dot shot. We just didn't use our good oppertunities very well | ||
| Running race (Saturday Fun Runs) 21:32 [4]5.08 km (4:14 / km) +30m 4:07 / km vdot: 46.6 | ||
| shoes: New Balance | ||
| Felt a lot harder then I was going, left hamy was starting to hurt a bit getting near the end, its been starting to do that since soccer training on thursday. Finished 5th, was coming 2nd for about the first 4 km but my legs were starting to burn finishing but I still ran alright to finish down the last hill.
Climb is a pretty rough guesstimation from Google Earth.

Friday Aug 1 | ||
| Event: North West Area Athletics Trials | ||
| Running race (Reg Athletics - 1500m) 4:53 [4]1.5 km (3:15 / km) vdot: 55.9 | ||
| shoes: Spikes | ||
| Woooh, Won my 1500m, by less then a sec, but i tell you the other guy never had a hope. Time Keepers got me at 4:53.03 or something near that, I got myself at 4:52.66 though. So yeah, on my way to state, Feeling good about it and thinking maybe if I train enough I can go through to nationals, hehe, bit of a goal but we'll see how good some people are there first. Just think it would be cool to make it to nationals on the first year of making it too state for athletics. Think I did 51 first 300m, led till there to see if any of the other guys were going to keep the pace, let two of the other guys lead from there for the next two laps, there pace felt like a fairly easy one to keep which may have been good recovery from the first 300m. With 400m to go the leader seemed to stop so I decided to make my move and push it hard home from there. Ranga with a rats tail followed me from there and overtook me with 120m to go, I 'let' him get a little a head to make it more exciting then pushed it and overtook him couple of metres before the line.
And Josh I am pretty sure first 2 get through to state automatically, then 3rd can get through if they beat a qualifying time... So you should have made it. Oh and I forgot to mention it was on a grass track, so once I get on synthetic I'll be cruising round. and also the guy that was a mad cross country runner, I think he came 3rd at state this year, didn't turn up... so it was sort of a shame, I'll probably see him at the Tamworth 10 on Sunday so I can question him there : P And! To add to all this it is a 27 sec grass pb for track and a 25 sec overall pb but that was from yr 7 so thats pretty said that it has taken me this long to break it and from Cross Country 1.5km time 12sec off (That doesn't really tell me much though), but the good news is that training is paying off and the time is coming down fast! Maybe Hills on Monday will get my self organised training back off.

| Running warm up/down (Warm up #1) 30:00 [2] | ||
| shoes: New Balance | ||
| Had a pretty awesome warm up which I think was good because it got my breathing really good which I think was my limiting factor on wednesday. | ||
| Running warm up/down (Warm Down #1) 10:00 [2] | ||
| shoes: New Balance | ||
| Running warm up/down (Warm Up #2) 5:00 [3] | ||
| shoes: New Balance | ||
| Running race 1:01 [4]0.4 km (2:32 / km) | ||
| shoes: Spikes | ||
| Wasn't really happy with this time but still slightly because I didn't really care what I came or did in this because I was concentrating on the 1500m. Came 3rd. The winner was pretty awesome and he got the record of 52 something. | ||
| Running warm up/down (Warm Down #2) 20:00 [2] | ||
| shoes: New Balance | ||
| Weird how I felt really tight from the 400m but was more flexible then I have been. I think some of I stretching is paying off. | ||
Thursday Jul 31 | ||
| Soccer 1:00:00 [3] | ||
| shoes: Total 90 Soccer boots | ||
| Left Hamy started feeling really tight, thinking it might be better now. Hope so, got Regional Athletics tomorrow. | ||
| Note | ||
| Missed Kung Fu and possibly Basketball training because
1) I'm tapering and 2) Went to watch our schools School Production which was actually really good.

| Strength and Conditioning, Etc. (Gym) 30:00 [4] | ||
| shoes: New Balance | ||
| Did heaps of upperbody work the whole time so that my legs could still be fresh for cross country this arvo. Cept our group had to do a stationary squat for 3 min at the start, which doesn't really help | ||
| Running race (Cross Country) 5:04 [4]1.5 km (3:23 / km) vdot: 53.7 | ||
| shoes: New Balance | ||
| Starting to taper for Regional Athletics this friday. Ran this run fairly hard with still having a bit left. And I didn't have anyone to run against, so some competition could help my run a bit I think. | ||
| Running warm up/down (Cross Country) 20:00 [3] | ||

| Found that running with music seemed to keep changing my speed or my style or something. sort of stange.... Also found a different pair of earphones for my Ipod and found that they are so so much louder then the normal Ipod ones... nearly made myself deaf I think when I turned it on cause it was turned up real loud from having it in a speaker... maybe sony makes better/more powerful headphones then apple | ||

| Orienteering race (Saw Mill Creek) 1:08:47 [4]**** 7.2 km (9:33 / km) | ||
| spiked:10/16c shoes: $40 O'Shoes | ||
| Well I didn't start the run off too well by forgeting my punch card, relising about half way to the first leg, got the first 4 controls fairly well but then lost a few minutes on my 5th just cause I didn't see the control straight away. 6th control was good although I sort of fell/slide a bit over a metre down an earth bank but I think my hand slowed me down enough to stay injury free. Lost a couple of minutes on 7 getting confused with a gully that didn't seem to be on the map. 8, 9 and 10 were all pretty good then there was a map change and I got the first 3 controls well until missing a narrow ride I was going to follow a bit of the way to 4 then looking in a gully one too early, needed to relocate a bit in that leg, was quite confusing. 5 was good except I veared a little off what would have been a spike to come to a track bend a bit to the east. Over ran 6 a little cause I was running to far down to the gully.
I think I got the fastest time by about 5 minutes. Not sure what the climb was but there was a fair bit of it, though I don't think I minded the hills as much as I usually do, cause I was able to run up them fairly strongly. It wasn't a greatly detailed map but it did the job. Partly some of the contours seemed a lot steeper in real life then they looked on the map, Like some of the small, barely noticable gullies were massive, by comparison. And the person that set the course was saying that he set a really hard red course, or something along those lines, I didn't find it that bad though.
| Running warm up/down 15:00 [2] | ||
| shoes: $40 O'Shoes | ||
| Did an alright warm up but my cool down was pathetic. Spose I had an excuse that I was starting to feel my O shoes rubbing a bit and I didn't have anything else but Ugg Boots. | ||
