Pentland route with Doug and Harrison. Working reasonably hard on the climbs.

Snowy Pentlands fun with Tess and Doug. Flotterstone to Carnethy via Turnhouse then round the C5 course and back the same way. Feeling sluggish on the hills - steeper than I remember!

Train delays meant later and shorter than planned but got out for a few laps of of the block. Feeling alright but the whiplash nevk stiffness got a bit worse after 5km.

+6.5 for Feb already. Doubles is sort of cheating though.

A not unexpected negative reaction to my first full track session in a couple of years. Inflammation around the inside of left ankle - classic track injury. Probably not helped by running in fat shoes. Also whiplash in my neck was worse today.

Jan summary: mad month. 328 miles so 18 ahead of schedule. But I had a bonus day when we crossed the date line, so maybe only 13 up. Four non-running days is a bit high but all were for good reasons - pleasing to hit targets regardless.

Feb will be mad again with travel and proper house move. Exciting too though!

Tuesday Jan 30 #

OBS to the track, 2x(8x400) off 60(120) then shuffle home with T.
400s were ok, 67-68 for the first set and 68-69 for the second. Found pacing tricky as didn't have watch set up correctly so slightly overcooked it on the first set. Jibbered by the end!

London commuting. Got to Blackfriars bridge and realised if forgotten key for my new locker so had to divert to Farringdon to pop back and get it. Fail.

And back. Not planning on doubling up too much this year but it just makes sense this week for tube avoiding. It is a pretty cool route, all things considered.
