11 AM

Running 3:46:00 [3] 18.7 km (12:05 / km) +1550m 8:33 / km

Over to Chamonix for a run in some even bigger hills. Wanted to do a slightly longer, less steep, run than yesterday however the route we chose from La Flegere to Lac Blanche turned out to be pretty snowy and very slow going. Bashed my knee on some rocks at the edge of a snow field at one point - sore at the time, ran it off, but very uncomfortable now. At the point where I could have added some extra distance on (along the Tour du Mont Blanc to Brevent) we'd already been out well over three hours so instead I hammered it back down the hill -800m in under 16 minutes.

Steep hill run up La Tournette, starting at lake level. Good mix of forest paths, hill paths and steep rock with a bit of metalwork to assist at the top. Hot and sunny until about 50m from the top when we were in cloud. Time includes all stops/faff.

Lunchtime strut about. Accidentally drew a cartoon dinosaur with my trace. Vienna Pale (Pil√łt, 4.6%) in the Stockbridge Tap.

Taking the dentist's '48hours before vigorous exercise' to the minute, managed to squeeze in a run around Hyde Park before heading to the airport. Hot and busy but good to be moving after a day sat in a conference.

Note
(rest day)

If I'd known the dentist was going to advise against exercise for 48 hours then I'd have made more of an effort to get out yesterday am. Oh well. Nice sunny wander through London village looking for a pint of U. Found a USPA (Left Handed Giant Brewing, 5.5%) in about the 12th pub I tried.

Note
(rest day)

Dentist and travelling later, didn't get a run in earlier. DOMS will benefit from this.

Very easy shuffle to the bypass and back. Pretty domsy.
