BEOC Middle. Great scrappy fun. Caught by Jegor by #8 but we only ended up running one leg together as we couldn't make our misses coincide. Not sure where I lost 6 minutes though!

shoes: Asics Gel Fuji Trabuco

Warm up for the day - Mile End KrapRun. Aim was to not break sweat but it was a bit warm and humid for that. Managed to avoid getting out of breath though.
Paul Martelletti blasted it off the front for a 14:50 and then looked to be doing a second 5k as I walked up to the the tube station.
11 AM

Urban Orienteering race 14:44 [3] 4.0 km (3:41 / km)
shoes: VJ iRock #1

BEOC Sprint Qual. Very easy, safe routes through the marshy bit. 4s behind Jonny.
4 PM

Urban Orienteering race 15:30 [3] 4.0 km (3:53 / km)

BEOC Sprint Final. Flustered at the start, and never really found my flow. Enjoyed it though.

Running race 41:10 [3] 10.5 km (3:55 / km) +350m 3:22 / km
shoes: VJ iRock #1

Red Moss Kips race. Strong field, all eager to challenge Hector's record. We set out fast and I pushed on after the tree lined road climb. Hoddy came with me and then once on the hillside Waldie moved up to us and led the way along the Drove Road. He faltered when the climb started and Hoddy and I got to the foot of the first kip together. I managed to stick with him for half the climb before Highlander legs set in (excuses!) and he had a good gap by the top which he extended over the second Kip. I settled in for a long hard lonely race back to the finish however the most eventful bit of the race was yet to unfold. Firstly Hoddy and I took a crap line through the Howe - the C5 descent rather than cutting the corner towards the Green Cleugh which allowed Fallas to sneak ahead of me and Jonny and Waldie to get right on my heels - then Pete managed to twist his ankle on a slightly uphill path (!) and had to have a sit down to think about life.
Highlander legs set in for a second time (more excuses) as Fallas pulled away through the Green Cleugh then Waldie passed me on the road descent. There's still 600m to run on the flat though and the sight of two red and yellow vests stirred something in me which got me back ahead of Waldie. Fallas was coming back too but not quickly enough and he finshed 10s ahead. The three of us were comfortably under the old record though so happy days all round.

Running warm up/down 15:00 [3] 3.0 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Asics GT2000 #6 - Red

Down the hill to the Grey Horse. Decided not to run home tonight.
