Kinghorn would be worth mapping for a varied, hilly, sprint race.

Running race 22:43 [3] 6.9 km (3:18 / km)

BlackRock5.
Steady start up the hill then a few injections of pace on the flat and downhill road run to the beach. Pack of about 7 with Renault leading the way.
Onto the beach and I broke away with two Central guys(Alex Hendry and Cameron Milne). Fearsome headwind so there was a bit of silly buggers tactical running to try and avoid leading. In the end Alex and I did our share of the work but the pace was pedestrian at times - 3:42 for the third km.
A wee surge to be first to the Rock was enough to dislodge Milne. Disappointingly dry round the rock but I wasn't complaining. On the beach run back Alex got a wee gap. Rather than chasing him down I saved a bit of energy and just kept him in touch. About 4s down coming off the beach.
Consciously started working harder once we got on Tarmac. Didn't make much of an impression on the flat but the two hills were enough to get me back on his shoulder. Sat behind him for a few strides then made my move - 5m lead by the top of the hill.
Relaxed down the hill and kept him at bay until we crossed the start line when he came sprinting past. Fortunately for me the Finish comes after the nasty wee "sting in the tail" which I had the power to sprint up to get back past him to take the win.
Very happy to win this (first trotter win for a long time in a race we used to dominate) and happy with the time as well - CR is 22:03 & we were slow in the headwind. Great fun!
