2x Flotterstone - Turnhouse. Al A had been telling me he reckoned straight was quicker than round the path. I tested both and thought the path was 30s quicker. I then, coincidentally, bumped into Al and Grant as I was on the way back to the car, and he pointed at the line he was planning, much straighter than the "straight" i'd tested. So I still don't know which is quicker - I think i'll stick to the path next Sunday anyway.

Dropped the car off and did a short loop. Threw in a tempo mile back along Gorgie Rd and Dalry rd - 5:30. Nice to run down there with no pedestrians (compared with my usual 8:15am commuter dodging).

Pentlands run. Refreshing myself on the Skyline route. Hillend (bottom carpark) Caerketton, Allermuir, Castlelaw, Turnhouse then dropped down to the road, up the Maidens Cleugh then back over Harbour, Capelaw, Allermuir and Caerketton.

Pretty heavy legged after the time off & last nights session. Right foot feeling fine - strange pain in left foot now though. Just feels like some bruising, should be OK. Can't think what caused it though.

Decent length warm up round Bruntsfield links to wake the legs up. Foot a bit stiff but pain free happily.

5x (3on, 30s off, 1on, 2off). The threes were supposed to be at XC race pace, the ones a bit faster. The session went quite well, ~5min/miles for the threes, ~4:30s on the minutes. Struggled on the 4th set but picked it up for the final one.
It felt like the first tough session for a long time!

Pressup/situp routine, leg press to stretch out my achilles & some pullups. Basically putting off going back to the books.

Right foot has been pretty sore since Sunday morning. Skipped MASH to see how it goes with a bit of rest.
