Run (no dog) (Powder mills +) 45:00 [3] 5.44 mi (8:16 / mi)
shoes: Defyance 3 #3

41F when I went out, but was overdressed (hat, long sleeves & gloves).
Just plain beat up - very sluggish
- temperature?
- yesterday's run? (in afternoon)
- trip catching up to me?

Going over the hump of the PM hill just did me in.

Note

Rest day - if you call being on planes "rest". At least the 4 hr flight had no one in the middle seat. (very few empties on that flight)

Palo Alto again
------
Didn't want to be late this AM as I was chairing a session, so I put off running until afterwards.
Boy my legs were dead - no strength at all. Also could not get air into lungs for first mile - dust? heat? traffic smog?
Crossing Arastradero - must have waited 5 minutes for the light. That rest did not necessarily help matters - just made things even more leaden.
Glad I don't live here any more, as I'd go nuts with all the traffic & people, although it's neat to hear so many languages, even away from Stanford.

Ran the bike path and turned around, as I wanted to avoid El Camino Real this time of day.

Run (no dog) 29:51 [3] 4.05 mi (7:22 / mi)
shoes: Defyance 4 #1 (screws)

Same Palo Alto route - only 1 bobble - had to slow down to read street sign in dark to see if I had hit Matadero or not. (not)

750, 704, 709, 726

More runners/walkers this morning.

Run (no dog) (Palo Alto) 30:57 [3] 4.02 mi (7:42 / mi)
shoes: Defyance 4 #1 (screws)

Dark here as well: being further south does not help in Sept. There were no hills where I ran (mostly bilke paths).

829, 734, 716, 729

Not many Californians get up early.
