Running 40:00 [1] 7.61 km (5:15 / km)
shoes: Pearl Izumi Streak (circa 2009

Made to the Cayman Islands! (finally). Did a little sport psychology with some track kids, then got picked up and managed to get in at least a little bit of a run in the dark to try and get my sweat on. I did a little research on how to best acclimatize to the hot weather, and the best advice was, "arrive 2 weeks before the race".

Plan B? Just try to get out and do some intensive sweating, hopefully get my body's cooling system to start going into panic overdrive, somehow. I'm open to other suggestions. You have 36 hours.

Running 1:05:00 [1] 12.26 km (5:18 / km)
shoes: Mizuno Wave Rider 16

Another run around another loop, this time in the dark. Looks like in Laurier Park, a bunch more of the trail has fallen into the river, since there was suddenly a new fence and a new trail. At least, I think it was a new trail, it was a little dark. If it was, I'm impressed because at least the city did a good job in not destroying too much of the forest, just enough to make a decent trail.

When I was crossing the bridge, I ran past a fatbiker, who I could then follow his light on the other side of the river. It was quite amusing to see how he was definitely moving slower than I was, since we were going at about the same pace but I eventually got to the other bridge well before he did. I guess you don't ride a Fatbike to go fast.

You ride it so that you can totally ruin every trail you're on. Especially ski trails.

Running 50:00 [1] 9.63 km (5:12 / km)
shoes: Mizuno Wave Rider 16

Another run at home, this time a different one of the old loops. Hopefully by the time I head back to Suomi I will have checked all the old runs off the list. I was actually generally impressed, I saw one person who was walking their dogs on a leash! In an area that was not an off leash area! It was almost like.... I was in Finland. What a pleasant surprise. I'm sure it was an anomaly.

Running intervals 1:20:00 [4] 15.69 km (5:06 / km)
shoes: Mizuno Wave Rider 16

Another "Mona Fartlek" workout. 2 x 90s, 4 x 60s, 4 x 30s, 4 x 15s, as sort of last minute desperation workout before the half. I'm not going to realistically get any fitter now, so hopefully this is just going to help me be as fit as I possibly can be given the past month of training. Nice to be out on a pleasant and mildly cold day. Running felt good, though I got a little tired quickly. Could be from all the flying. Here's hoping, anyway.
