Note
(rest day)
Rest days are also intermissions from my 5 word policy. Since sometimes I have things to say.
Like almost every other country, Estonia has varying levels of "wonderful" forest and "crap" forest. It reminds me in Edmonton in a lot of ways, with occasionally really nice forest but then a lot of greener stuff with tons of deadfall. I have no idea what it will look like in the middle of summer, but I expect the green will be even slower.
Lots of pain in the legs these days. The anti-inflammatories did absolutely nothing for my achilles, and after the V02max test my hamstrings were not happy all week. My latent plantarfasciitis sometimes rears its ugly head, which I think is a product of my extremely tight calves. All of this raises serious concerns for my actual physical ability to run. I can run through most pain. But sometimes, gee whiz, I want to walk around like a normal person.
The last week has also been really hard on the home front, which made staying motivated and focused through the camp a real challenge, and often I didn't succeed. Almost more mentally exhausted than physically. But, I need to stay busy or it'll just feel worse.
