Event: SN Trophy

Orienteering race (SN Trophy - Long Valley) 1:09:23 [5] 9.3 km (7:28 / km) +55m 7:15 / km
shoes: Addidas Swoop

Good run today, after a couple of good nights sleep. Didn't see Jane Forrest at the start, but caught her at no.1 and the race was on! First time I have felt like being competitive for a while! So we were head to head until no.10, where I managed to get away from her on the long leg to no.11.

Just looked at the results and I was fastest cumulatively at no.3 !! 4th overall, 3rd being Anne Edwards in 64mins. I lost 2 mins at no. 17, which was just stupid as I came out on exactly the right track, but had got confused as I seemed to have got through the foest a lot more quickly than anticipated, therefore confused as to where I was exactly and faffed.

Pleased to feel I can orienteer again :o)

Orienteering race (Boxing Day Canter) 55:00 [3] 7.1 km (7:45 / km)
shoes: Addidas Swoop

Ringwood Forest North West

60mins Score, with bonus fairy and Xmas tree controls.
Felt really stiff legged and didn't enjoy the undergrowth at all. Luckily I found the fairy, which made my day :o) Beautiful day for it, very wet underfoot though.

Went a stupid way round, and there was a total stampeed at the first control which wasn't pleasant, but nice to be out running off the Xmas Turkey.

Core 20:00 [1]

Core Strenght - need to crack on and do a lot more of this....

Running warm up/down 11:00 [3] 2.1 km (5:14 / km)
shoes: Asics - Gel Nimbus 10

Go to Hill Reps hill at Clifton Down.

Intervals (Hills) 17:00 [4]
shoes: Addidas Swoop

2 sets of 5 intervals which were roughly 30secs each with (very) slow jog back in my case! 2min rest in between sets.
Need to change it to 3 sets of 4 next time and really go for it.....
Steeper than I am used to, but felt good to be totally puffed out again!
Decided that Tim needs to do slighly longer ones - i.e. 30secs too and jog back to catch me up again - I run a lot faster knowing someone is chasing me.
Stomach not good at the end though.... I ate fruit salad and yoghurt for lunch.... definitely the culprit!

Running warm up/down 11:00 [2] 1.8 km (6:07 / km)

Back home again, all uphill! Stomach not particularly happy though, so was a bit of a trudge.
Feeling better running again now though..... need to seriously step it up after Xmas though, I was ALOT fitter this time last year.
