orienteering race 1:00:00 [5] 10.0 km (6:00 / km)
shoes: Dancing Shoes

JK Relays
6.2km 29:49.

Ran last leg for EUOC (Doug Tullie, Dunc Coombs and Hector). The boys did well and set me out in 4th position about 90seconds behind Craney in 3rd (and about 3 minutes behind Hubmann and 2 minutes behind Rollier). I started offensively and straight away missed the first control. Thought it was quite a big miss but lookin at the splits it was only about 30seconds. Focussed quite well after that and ran the rest of the course almost mistake free. Passed Craney, caught Rollier but got gaffled down the hill at the end (He had a longer gaffle earlier on). In the end i got fastest time (29:49) 14secs ahead of Hubmann, so pretty chuffd.

3rd place for EUOC - celebrated with a fish supper in Doncaster on the long bus journey home...

orienteering race 1:50:00 [5] 21.0 km (5:14 / km)
shoes: Dancing Shoes

JK M21E Long Distance.
7th. 90:56 1st= Hubmann. 85 something

Starting off last felt great.
Made some silly mistakes at the beginning of the course like thinking the road was uncrossable (as it had purple crosses on it) so ran to the drinks point down and up the valley.
However i came through spectator after 53 minutes with the 2nd fastest time behind Hubmann . . then i saw the 'wall' at the top of the next big hill and wobbled round the rest of the course. I knew i was feeling tired but can't believe GG beat me by 11 seconds on the run in. Although he did have some KOKs to chase and we all know he likes the....

JK M21E Middle

1st. 33:45. 2nd= Hubmann 34:00 3rd= GG. 34:17.

Probably one of my best performances yet and i was really happy with the result :) Felt in control the whole way round - only a small mistake at number 4. Really surprised to have won . . .

Event: JK 2008

orienteering 45:00 [5] 8.0 km (5:38 / km)
shoes: Dancing Shoes

JK M21E Sprint.
2nd. 14:12 1st= Hubmann 14.01.

Really tricky sprint race around Surrey University. Started well but then lost 15 seconds on number 8 - didn' take enough time to read the map and failed to spot the passageway to the control. Had 2 other small misses at 11 and 16, where i switched off and ran to a dead end.

Overall i was pleased with my run and really satisfied with the result.
