Walking 30:00 [2]
The alternate usual, w Carl. Walked to the library to return a book that bothered me so much I wanted it out of the house. It was Fall On Your Knees by MacDonald. It was set in Cape Breton so I started it before our trip to the maritimes. It was about a highly dysfunctional family in the early 1900s and was very dark and depressing. I almost quit about 1/3 of the way through. Should have. Thought it would have a redemptive quality and that I'd get some insight into life on Cape Breton. Not so much. I mentioned to the librarians how much I did not like it, even though it was well written, and they said it was an "Oprah book" and they're all depressing. Now I know. Need something delightful to realign my mood.
