Went for a scenic ride near the lake. Parked at Shelburne Museum and rode my mountain bike (with conversion tires) out to the Essex Ferry. Paused for a photo and a drink, then headed back via Converse Bay, Lake Street, and Ferry Rd. so that I could stop at the Charlotte Country Store and sit on the bench on the porch with a chocolate milk. Ran into a friend. Surprisingly.
The hills got to me. Had to walk up the last one. Grrrr.
Speaking of running into friends, I was coming out of a coffee shop on Church Street on Tuesday afternoon and saw a familiar face in profile--Jon Torrance. Such a surprise, especially since he lives near DC and I had last seen him a few days before in the Maritimes. He did not recognize me at first seeing as I was not dirty and sweaty in O clothes. He was visiting Stowe with him family to celebrate his parents' 50th wedding anniversary. That was fun.
