Walking 2:00:00 [1]

Mt Thomas - not up to the top, need to allow a bit more time for that. Have taken out a fair bit of time for botanising and photographing... we were out for nearly 3 hours

Run 1:12:30 [3]
shoes: XTalon 2017

Bottle Lake, usual circuit. (although there's parts where the trail markers are a bit scarce I'll probably never do the same way twice) Never felt like pushing hard but no walking outbreaks - apart from a few paces here and there on the open sandy ridges.

Orienteering (score event) 1:40:00 [2] ** 6.9 km (14:30 / km) +300m 11:54 / km
shoes: Asics Trabuco 2018

Rogaine at Halswell, 2 hour limit which I was never intending to use. Was planning on making it a bit more of a 'run' though but just wasn't really there physically, especially on the big climb up the hill. Fun event, once I finished wasting 5-10 minutes on a completely unnecessary rough sidle getting my head into the scale, and got over that controls still had to be searched for once you got to the middle of the circle... Navigation pretty good most of the time, and the one really big mistake gave me a bonus 60 points as I ended up at a control that I hadn't planned on. Which almost makes up for the 50 pointer right by the event centre that I completely forgot to collect! 1030/1600 pts

Run 16:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Trabuco 2018

How to waste a 3 day weekend full of stunning weather day 3:
Get car started. Drive up to Ashley Forest because you want to meet up with some people up that way and the forest might be nice for a run. Decide that you probably should take note of the great big 'Strictly No Unauthorised Access' just inside the forest gates, but given that you've already changed, run up and down the road a bit before diverting to somewhere like Mt Thomas for a decent walk instead. Have car give one more failure-to-start scare when trying to leave forest so decide not to risk any more stops after all! Almost laughing about the whole business, but maybe give me a couple more days....
