Run (off-road ) 1:25:00 [3]
shoes: Asics 2017

Adventure run with a bit of stream- and bush-bashing Elsdon side of Colonial Knob, with Magnus and Ellie. I'd say ask Magnus exactly where but the number of times he said things like 'I don't remember this part' suggests that he wouldn't be much less vague about it than I can be.

Run 1:07:00 [3]
shoes: Asics 2017

Roads and riverbanks. Squeezed in between a couple of interviews (one job and one media) so limited my self to the Heretaunga Park loop. Otherwise I might have thought about adding some more time/distance but this was getting hard enough work by the end anyway. Felt like I was hitting a pretty good pace but nothing exciting about the time taken, didn't help that the Taita Gorge Perpetual Headwind Generator was working well today but probably more a case of starting too fast then paying for it later.

Run 26:15 [3]

A little jaunt around Kaitoke (was on my way to Wairarapa so that makes more sense than it seems) to try to stretch some of last night out of the legs. Included some sharp uphills I'd forgotten about so perhaps not ideal recovery run material but nice place for a short run anyway.

Run warm up/down 12:00 [2]
shoes: Asics 2017

Warm up and down. Spent most of the warm up worrying about how slow and painful the race was going to be and most of the warm down feeling thankful it wasn't.

Run race 24:14 [4] 5.0 km (4:51 / km)
shoes: Asics 2017

Waterfront 5k. Good start, turned at just over 12 min without working too hard so hopeful for a sub 24. Then spent much of the return leg finding out that the reason for the good start was a nice tail wind. Not so nice as a head wind but battled through for an acceptable time. Feel like I could still comfortably lift the pace a bit but not sure I would have the distance if I did. Time estimated, it took a few seconds to get over the start line, then a few seconds to get my watch started
