Orienteering 22:51 [4] **** 2.7 km (8:28 / km)
21c shoes: Asics 2017

Pukeahu/Wellington HS. Donated my map to a late starter so no indepth analysis - but definitely out of practice when it comes to intense sprint orienteering! I think a few small mistakes or route choice errors, but pretty sure I loat more time in total in just general faff - standing still trying to find a viable route choice on the trickier legs, or figuring out which side of long multi-level walls controls were at before I was committed to potentially the wrong one.

Walking 3:00:00 [1]

More line marking, linking up where Ripley had got to yesterday morning and where we'd got to with the afternoon's exploration. And a bit of time moving trap boxes on to the line, almost running out by the time we needed to start driving out.

Walking 4:00:00 [2]

Spent the morning hauling boxes on to the line marked out yesterday, despite most of the time only being able to take in 2 at a time made it almost to the kiekie of doom...

Walking 2:00:00 [1]

...then the afternoon nutting out how to keep the trap line close to the river like it's supposed to be when the terrain was working against us.

Walking 6:00:00 [1]

Marking and cutting new trap line. Made great progress until hitting a big kiekie patch too big to detour around, the timestamps on the trap sites marked on the GPS will tell an interesting story....

Walking 3:00:00 [1]

Orongorongo boot camp II. Lost a fair bit of the day on the way in, digging the road out from under a slip and trying to rebuild a useable 4WD drive-line at one of the major creeks, (so we could call it arms and shoulders day) but still managed to put in a few hours marking out the new trap line and moving trap boxes onto it.
