Walking 1:00:00 [1]

An annoying weekend where I was feeling just sick enough to not feel confident about getting some longer runs in as planned, then once it got stupid hot would start to feel ok again... so by late sunday needed some head clearing so headed out to Pukemokemoke for a brisk walk. Had to be a brisk walk as I didn't grab a torch and realised on the drive out that sunset was getting close... Kind of wished I'd brought running shoes but also felt knocked back enough at times I suspect a run would have been less successful than a walk.

Orienteering 31:19 [4] *** 3.0 km (10:26 / km) +110m 8:49 / km
spiked:9/11c

Sandford Park. Not very focused, losing a bit of time to general faff and route choices that didn't really work on the first 2 legs (also so gloomy it was hard to see the tracks on the map). But got into it for the rest of the course, though there were more than a couple of times that my legs were pointing out that yes they had actually worked quite hard the night before.

Orienteering warm up/down 10:00 [2] **
spiked:1/2c

Collecting a couple of controls afterwards. Obviously still not entirely switched on as I happily trotted off down entirely the wrong the track to get the first one...

Run warm up/down 12:00 [3]

took a fair bit of the warm-up to convince myself I had 5 ks in the tank tonight

Run race 22:54 [5] 5.0 km (4:35 / km)

Was expecting a handicap race tonight but glad it wasn't as there was no way I would be able to target last week's time. But it seems that sub-23 is the new normal :-) Probably one of my best paced efforts, nice and consistent all the way through, comfortable (until large parts of the last kilometre when I wanted to WALK!) but still hard work!
