Training Log Archive: slow-twitch

Last day and completed my mission for the day by half past seven. So treated myself with a nice little walk down the public track afterwards. The pair I had to confirm today seem to start their day right down in the main gorge - it's not often I have been ABOVE singing kokako only a few metres away (and yes, they were in a tall tree)

Tidy-up in Onaia West - confirmed there were no birds on a line where the one previous visit had found no birds, then had a nice follow where I thought there was a gap on the map - turns out to be a pair that were already counted, but it does make the survey effort feel a bit more complete.

Hopefully the hunters I met were either completely unaware the first time they walked past or if they had heard me in the forest had already identified me as primate not ungulate before my radio started talking to me.
