I've been unsure this week if I've had a bit of a cold, or just run of the mill winter snifflies, but have got to the point where the only way to find out for sure is to get out and do something exertive. Like a nice run around the gardens, including 2 laps of the cemetery hill - the first at the beginning of the run going up the hard way, and then rediscovering a route I'd forgotten about around the horse paddocks up to the trig; the second near the end of the run going up a longer (but still felt hard) way. Felt ok running, like I could have kept going for some time, but we'll see how I am in a few hours time. Think it's already determined that this will be a quieter week than the last few anyway, probably deserved...

50! Somehow seemed easier than yesterday, must be something about round numbers...

Social climbing 1:00:00 [3]

Off to a bad start when Amy did something nasty to her shoulder on first proper climb of the night. But she was happy to hang round (I think this is basically their social life...) so Drew and I probably got more climbs in than usual. Finally knocked off the ungraded one ending with an overhang that I've been all but getting for a couple of weeks, in part a slight change in technique and in part enough brute strength that I'll struggle to remember what the technique change was! A bit more progress on the slab climb that I think will become the replacement nemesis (the one I lost my head on a bit last time), an easy success on an easy climb I hadn't done before, and a bit of mucking round on a couple of 15s and 16s that I tended to pull some good moves before getting somewhat lost on. Didn't go near the bastard blue overhang tonight, but maybe if I can get to it while still fresh next time...?

Will find out tomorrow if this has done the usual magic on the calf!
