Run 40:00 [3]

Riverside run, Ofiice - the old (City? Victoria?) bridge - Fairfield bridge circuit. Supposed to be a nice gentle recovery run because I was (A) feeling a bit beaten up from last night's efforts and (B) was a little disturbed looking at my log last night to see how little orange has been in the graph recently. However usual story when I'm getting back on the wagon after a couple of weeks: I don't do nice gentle recovery pace. So the warm-up section was definitely not at warm-up pace and then just got gradually slower until offically struggling at 35 mins (at which point I only had the nasty uphill between riverbank and office remaining). At least tomorrow I'll be feeling sore in the usual places rather than the current unusual ones... = recovery, right?

Social climbing 1:00:00 [3]

I thought this would be a bit of a hopeless session after a late night last night (while I very much appreciated Lizzie's World Cup start time being early enough to justify following online, I didn't factor in that by the time she was done the (other) big stars would be heading out into the forest, so obviously I just had to see how that panned out...) on top of a week of generally messy sleep patterns (too much stressing about things out of my control), but actually seemed to go quite well - just when I finally did hit the wall it was a big solid one. Made progress on climbs I'd tried before and according to Amy I'm starting to show some improvement technique-wise (although really I have to take her word for it) (also, with Drew finally able to join us tonight it was good to have some independent confirmation that my 'coach' may have her own entertainment in mind in her suggestions of which climbs I should try...). But the only one I made tonight - a fun little chimney I hadn't noticed before - apparently I'm not allowed to claim as a grade 14.5 because if you use the holds for more than one route you don't take the average? Do these climbers not do maths?
