Walking 1:15:00 [1]

Giving the head a bit of much needed clearance (or trying to) at Pukemokemoke, which turned out to be a nice little forest remnant on a nice little hill not far from home. If I'm ever back into looking for nice up&down&uneven ground running, there's potential here with maybe jyst enough track distance to justify the drive-there distance

Run 20:00 [3]

Continuous! Never thought such a short jaunt around my not particularly interesting neighbourhood would please me so much. Foot a bit sore all over, but being all over there's nothing I can relate directly to the original injuries.

Something I've found fascinating through this process is how quickly the body adapts to each new benchmark. Everytime the longest continuous run has got longer, no matter how fine I feel at the beginning and the end there's a point around the previous benchmark where the legs have piped up: hang on, this is where we stop isn't it? True to form, the 11th minute was the hardest today.

Run 20:00 [3]

2 x 10 minutes. At various times during both 'legs' I was feeling terrible but the end of each 10 I kind of almost felt like I could carry on a bit longer. Kind of. Next outing MAY be 20 minutes in one go. We'll see.

Walking 15:00 [1]

The whole session gets shorter as the run 'bursts' get longer. But looks like I can soon start bulking my hours up with more running time in total instead :-)

Stationary Bike intervals 27:50 [3]

Stationary Bike intervals 7:30 [5]

Guess I was due a bit of a failed session. Soon as I pushed into the first interval knew it just wasn't really happening tonight, legs felt really heavy and thighs felt on the verge of straining. Struggled through 6 repeats, rarely hitting the 40km/h+ target, before throwing in the towel.

Stationary Bike 45:00 [3] 20.2 km (2:14 / km)

As the great Hamilton blizzard entered the second day, I found myself completely snowed in so had to resort to the acycle for training...

...feeling a little sluggish after not enough sleep over the weekend, so only ever intended a relatively easy session. Made myself aim for at least a half hour at nothing-flash-but-at-least-it feels-like exercise pace. When I got within a couple of minutes of that minimum target I made a deal with myself that I would carry on to the end of the next song on my player. Inevitably that turned out to be the Phoenix Foundation's Friendly Society. If that means nothing to you, it's bound to be out there on the internet somewhere by now. Track it down and have a listen.

If you have a spare 17 minutes, that is.
