Run 20:00 [3]

4+6+6+4 mins, Hamilton Lake and immediate surrounds.

Couldn't really see a way to incorporate the orienteering into what was needed, so was going to fit this in between helping get the starters off and helping recieve the finishers. But got chatting to course-setter Sam and suddenly most of the 90 minute time limit was up..! So went for a jaunt afterwards. Felt good.

Stationary Bike 45:30 [4] 23.9 km (1:54 / km)

I'm starting to worry about my relationship with the penance machine. Even under strictest adherence to physio's rules I was allowed a run today, it's a nice day for it, but I did this instead. I'm claiming that by not running today I'm leaving the option open for the orienteering tomorrow, but still, I've got to wonder. (today's ride was 40 mins trying to stay over 30km/h, with a bit of warm up and down time)

Run 20:00 [3]

3+4+6+4+3 minutes. 6 minutes feels a fair bit longer than 5 at this stage of the game :-/ No stigmata this time and the only time the ankle really complained was when I stepped off the paving onto the grass which at times turned out to be a bit lumpier than it looked.

Stationary Bike intervals 46:15 [3] 31.4 km (1:28 / km)
weight:74.4kg

The full penance workout...

Stationary Bike intervals 13:45 [5]

...now with 25% more penance! (each 'flying minute' was extended to 1:15 this time)

Admittedly the intensity of each interval did start to drop a little at about the 35 minute mark, but that had more to do with thoughts of how hard the carpet was going to be to clean if I pushed that little bit harder, than anything else.

Run 20:00 [3]

Stokes Valley and Hutt River banks 3x5 minutes and shorter first and last 'bursts'. Got off to a bad start when my foot near the edge of the sole had a sharp pain first noticed at the end of the first run. Turned out it was spontaneously bleeding. Couldn't find anything sticking in, or in my sock or shoe. It was near the edge of a patch of rough dry skin, I'm thinking I might have somehow just broken the skin slightly through friction. Is this another Nic's-weird-feet thing or does this happen to normal people too? Took a piece of the end of the foot strapping I had and put that over it, and that seemed to make it go away.

Walking 30:00 [1]

Approximately 30 mins worth, I've had to guess how much time to take out for when I was stopped investigating my 'puncture'
