Summer series at Sandford Park. A fairly basic course, large parts were really just going for a run with the map in hand. But I guess it takes a fair bit of orienteering experience for a setter to see what is effectively a big hole in the middle of the map as an opportunity for route choice problems rather than just something to run a lap around in the narrow corridor of park. But a good opportunity to practice good habits with regards to looking ahead on the course rather than just concentrate on "the now". Unfortunately I was so focused on looking ahead by around the halfway mark that I kind of completely forgot about "the now" and in particular the 7th control. Ah well, apparently it was not a very nice control and visiting it would not have enriched my life at all. Following on Bozzy punching a wrong control last week, the experienced heads in OWaikato are not setting very good examples in the series to date....

My ankle felt very soft which is not what I'd hoped for...
