Stationary Bike 50:00 [3] 28.9 km (1:44 / km)
weight:73.6kg

Pissing down in the 'tron today, but wanted to kep the workrate up so pulled out the old penance machine intervals session. Been a few weeks since I last tried this so took a little while to get into it, and maybe launching into the first one at 5 minutes rather than 10 didn't help

Stationary Bike intervals 10:00 [5]

10 x 1 minute high intensity (trying to keep up over 40km/h, sometimes coming close to succeeding). The second to last interval is always the hardest!

Run 52:00 [3]
weight:74kg

A nice sunny afternoon run with Bozzy, from Day's Park over to Tauhara Park (I think) then alongside Wairere Drive to River Road and back to the beginning. Nice mix of paved, grass and even a bit of singletrack tucked away right beside the river. Not bad given that I'd just had a quick look at Google maps before we met and neither of us really knew where we were going most of the time. Was going to get out today anyway but no way I would have gone for as long or so consistently (ok there was a little bit of walkitis towards the end) without the company. Only problem was I had to pull myself away from the womens ITU triathlon when the run was just starting... who won?

Orienteering (score) 42:48 [3] ** 5.0 km (8:34 / km)
weight:75kg

Hamilton Street Score #1, St Andrews. Got 19 out of 30, I can see 2 more that I could have got 1 of without hitting the 45 min limit, I think Tom and the 2 young guys who turn up to all of these but whose names I can never remember got 23. The new twist of collecting 4 before coming back to the event centre for a "mystery challenge" certainly added something, not just a matter of finding 4 controls that could be visited quickly but you wanted to make sure you didn't break up any sensible loops that you'd be using the rest of the time, and I also didn't factor in very well the effect it had on time management - normally at about 20-25 minutes I'd start thinking about how I'm getting home, but when you've already used up nearly 10 just getting started it's a bit more complicated. Still mostly running after 40 minutes so I'm happy with that side of it even though I never really felt like I was running well.
