Run 20:00 [3]

Circuit of Hamilton Lake. Was worried a little that it might turn out to be a somewhat bigger lake than it looks, but pretty much spot on what I was hoping for.

Run warm up/down 8:00 [2]

Aware I'd probably cut out the lake lap a bit quicker than I'd intended for what was supposed to be recovery mode so went for a bit of a warm-down jaunt on the grass, which was wet enough to be tough going but that helped keep me slow.

Was supposed to go for a run but couldn't think of anywhere nice and motivating enough nearby to cancel out the demotivation of a couple of near sleepless nights and not getting onto it this morning before the weather started closing in. Very tempting to do nothing but the moment those thoughts started I made myself get on the Penance Machine. After a decnt warm-up did 8 (or maybe 9, I honestly can't remember if I started at the 10 or 15 minute mark) high intensity minutes (up above 35 km/h, never quite 40) with 4 minutes cruising in the 25-28 range in between. And gradually easing off for the last 10 minutes. Soundtrack: Faithless, No Roots.

Note

so turns out it takes about 40 mins to walk home. I feel slightly better about yesterday's run in that case

Run home from work, almost direct, almost 100% run. I'm going to have to start timing my walks between home&work as I thought it's been taking about half an hour. If that is true I clearly have NO running speed right now. Had to stop the watch for about 10 minutes and be a witness to a road accident (nobody hurt) and legs nearly tied up after that.
