Jamie just under 33 minutes so again happy with the win:Nic ratio. A few small blips but the only irritants are contouring to 11 & looking at it now can't see why you'd do anything other than go straight, and getting into the wrong clearing at 13 which wasn't surprising but added to the time loss by deciding I was in the wrong wrong clearing. Maybe it wasn't obvious that I was in a re-entrant but there was no way I could've been on a spur! So can find just enough time to have been under 50 minutes, which I would have been very happy with.

One thing I noticed over the weekend is that I seem to be orienteering a lot closer to the red line than I used to, (and not that long ago), I think something I've picked up from doing more serious racing in Woodhill than anywhere else lately. I figure as long as I'm still keeping my eyes open to wider route choice options (especially in this sort of terrain) it's got to be a good habit to have picked up. If nothing else I think it indicates a big improvement in confidence.

Happy enough with this one but felt lack of hill-fitness a bit! 18 minutes down on Rita, Penny & Lizzie. Enjoyed the fast running to about 9, but maybe enjoyed it a bit too much so when the contours hit they hit hard! Lost a couple of minutes on 2 - just being dozy and not really linking up the stages of the legs very well. Drifted wide & high on 6 but not much damage. Then 13-14 got stuck in the gullies a bit longer than I meant to - maybe should've just crossed and otherwise stayed out.

Run warm up/down 10:00 [2]

Not sure if crossing the canyon to get to the start really counted as a useful warm-up, but I did manage to at least jog most of it! And tried to make sure I threw in a useful warm down too.

Basic Workout 10:00 [3]

Right now, there's an old jewish guy out in front of the house building a really big boat out of gopherwood. Not sure if any outdoor training will happen today.

Basic Workout 10:00 [3]

Run (terrain) 33:00 [3]

For various reasons the body just didn't feel up to today's planned relaunch into terrain intervals. Was sitting in front of the computer and was on the verge of logging a great big CBF instead but decided just in time that wasn't good enough. So very much a getting out just for the sake of getting out run which probably achieves very little. But surely better than nothing.
