Run 45:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Trabuco 2018

A slow steady lap of Hagley North and South (well, maybe a bit less steady towards the end). Not great but hopefully counts towards more inertia busting.

Social climbing 1:00:00 [4]

At the Y with Dr Dunn and Bruce the Aussie. A promising start but fell apart pretty quickly, making very little progress on all but the first couple of climbs. No stamina and poor technique. Kept going though, and hopefully a good start on the inertia busting front.

Orienteering (rogaine) 5:44:00 [2] 22.0 km (15:38 / km) +400m 14:20 / km

Heights of Winter with Michael Croxford. Went well for about 4 - 4.5 hours then I fell apart a bit (boots had ripped my heels up a bit but even without that probably would have started to struggle). Great day out and MC excellent company as well as a well-matched team mate. Only minor navigational woopsies, which were probably more uncertainty than actual errors, and our actual distance traveled (by MC's GPS) was only 3km > than straight-line which over that distance is pleasing. Watching a whole bunch of teams heading way to the east of 31 as we basically spiked it was quality entertainment. We dropped one control from our plan, shame it was an 80 pointer, and shame I didn't admit defeat on it early enough to add an alternative. We would have just had time on the rate of progress up to that stage but I was unknowingly about to hit the wall when the decision was made, so in the end a good decision.
