Orienteering race 45:01 [4] 6.0 km (7:30 / km) +250m 6:13 / km

Dunalastair Middle. Lots of little errors, and no courage in my orienteering, unfortunately. Did OK, but a little disappointed.

Tuesday Apr 3, 2012 #

Orienteering 1:00:00 [3] 6.0 mi (10:00 / mi)

Training on Ilkley with joe. No major issues, and good to focus on clean navigation before the weekend.

Strength and Conditioning (BMF) 50:00 [2] 1.0 mi (50:01 / mi)

Took it easy tonight. Got paired up with a huge bodybuilder type, who kept encouraging me in a patronising way - dig deep, embrace the burn - all that bollocks. Will try to avoid him in future.

Running 10:00 [3] 0.6 mi (16:40 / mi)

Minimal warm up and down, felt more like sitting down in the sun.

Orienteering race 58:52 [4] 9.2 km (6:24 / km) +170m 5:51 / km

On my way back from the isle of wight, took in the event at Butter Wood. Horrendous nights sleep, and I clearly hadn't woken up to begin with - losing around 90 seconds on 3, 4, and then 5! Then a poor line to 8, and I'd already flushed 5 or 6 minutes away. I then ran fairly well for the remainder, but the damage was well done. Next weekend is probably a good time to start navigating properly.

Only 30 seconds down on Peter Bray from 8 onwards, which is encouraging.
