Cockatoo Island Sprint

Tricky area, completely missed the tunnels but not too much difference in time. A couple of hesitations working out which stairs to pick but a good fun course.

Had a good walk around the island afterwards looking at the heritage stuff.

Long Sprint Race Georges Heights Day 1 Christmas 5 Day

Nice intro back to Orienteering on a not too technical course, not too hilly and not too hot so a lot to like about the day. 4th on the day with Noah Poland way out in front, then David Poland a couple of minutes a ahead and Steven Flick by 4 seconds.

No significant errors just a few hesitations

Got beaten by Aoife in the finish split - must try harder!

Christmas morning run at Terigal Central Coast NSW and followed by a dip in the ocean to cool off.

Not as crazy busy as the Perth beaches on Christmas morning but plenty of people out with their new toys, stand up paddle boards seem still to be a popular choice.

Tried to follow O-Ing's bush route to Lane Cove NP but ended up bush bashing down to the park entrance. Missed the trail by a few meters on the way down but found the big yellow arrows on the way back up.

Along the river trail to the "Halfway Point" and back, lots of big lizards to jump over and one bush turkey that was avoiding the Christmas pot.

Extreme humidity at about 90%+ and 30 deg C give me a balmy 45 deg Perth summer day over that any time. Had a cold shower and may stop dripping sweat by tomorrow morning .
