GGS Nav Dash

Tash caught me early and we were racing each other for the first half until Tash went down a wrong path before the bush section. She caught up again along with Ken Post after the spectator control, I went around the "last" buildings on the ground but they were off the map and so was I! a bit messy in the last lots of buildings with many turn around controls.

Fun little event - thanks tRicky for the setting and Juffy for the map

Road Cycling 1:05:46 [3] 28.92 km (26.4 kph) +142m

Ride home from GGS - North Westerly wind was cross ways most of the time but helpful a few times.

South Perth a dangerous place to ride on a Saturday afternoon. Lots of kids learning to ride who are a bit all over the path, but this is OK. It is the adults that don't look, stop, ride 90 to the path for no reason, wobble all over the place and generally have not much idea of how to behave on a bike shared path that are scary. Had to inform one lady that when I ring my bell it is not a signal to turn in front of me, politely of course

Regular chase the ladies ride, did not catch them again

Spotted tRicky near the scout hall on the freeway path but he was too focused to say hello

Orienteering race 17:35 [4] 2.72 km (6:28 / km) +3m 6:26 / km
shoes: Asics - new May 2013

Ran the C2 Sprint course at John XXIII to test it out. Other than taking two controls out of order and thus being a MP all seemed good. Plenty of route choice and a few blind alleys for the unwary

Course length is 1.9 straight and took one long route so the best available is likely around 2.5

Walking 50:00 [1] 5.0 km (10:00 / km)

Another walk home from the city, as I was not motivated to ride this morning and needed some exercise

Strange lack of wind for Perth

Expert 3 SOL at Frazzle Rock

Clean through to 6, except for a bit off line getting out of 5 to the paddock run ShotRat gave me number 6 but was too to far ahead for me to see him into 7. At 7 my eyes were streaming with the cold air and my glassed were fogged up and I could not read the detail on the map so spun around a couple of times before I put the glasses in my pocket and worked it out. Slog through to the finish. Lost time at 7 was worth a few places
