Running 36:49 [2] 8.02 km (4:35 / km) +37m 4:29 / km
shoes: Asics mileage 6

Nice run round Bedford Park. Windy day today could make for some interesting racing.

Running 38:01 [2] 8.6 km (4:25 / km) +2m 4:25 / km
shoes: Asics mileage 6

WU-Was ready a bit early this time. Find it weird doing strides/longer effort 30min before race but it is that or only the 2/3 you get right before.

WD-Lovely loop of the park. Realised orienteering is where my talent lies as found about 6 controls and didn't even have a map.

Drills 15:00 [2] 1.5 km (10:00 / km)

Running race 4:09 [5] 1.5 km (2:46 / km)

1500m-Semi

Well nailed my plan of settle at the back and go further backwards. Nicely through in 65 then 2:10 but was off the back and struggled in the wind and then at 1100 was 3:00 and then just folded and cruised in.

I am annoyed at myself for not pushing myself really hard to stay with the group. I was feeling tired and slow but I think it is an unfamiliarity with middle distance running and I think I can go through a lot more pain and run a lot faster. I used tomorrow mornings 5k as a reason but not sure it is legit otherwise I wouldn't have even entered the 1500 to begin with.

Oh well happy with yesterday and hoping tomorrow will be more in my comfort zone. I have run a lot of 72's recently and very few 65's.

Lap 1- WU
Lap -2 WD

Drills 13:00 [2] 1.2 km (10:50 / km)

Few more strides than usual. Not a fan of going to a call room 20min before and being very cramped up and then lead onto the track being restricted. So had a stationary 15min before being able to do some more strides.

Running race 4:03 [5] 1.5 km (2:42 / km)

BUCS 1500m Heat-2

I aimed to try and run 4:00-4:05 as in the past 4:06 would get you through. I was very prepared to go to the front and do it myself on first few laps. Off the line was ridiculoulsly quick and couldn't get to the front so got on the outside ready for when the silly middle distance just stop. Yet Ian (another Brighton runner) kept up the pace so ended up running on lane 2.
Fairly good splits. All I remember was 49 at 300m, 2:11 at 800. A gap came at 600m and I just tried to hold on.

Finished 7th in my heat but thought it was quick then watching some fools jog round in later heats was fairly confident I was in. Ended up 4:06 was slowest fastest loser.

PB season continues with 4:02:57.

I don't know what to do in the semis though. I would quite like to have a crack at sub 4 but not sure if that is done trying to get to the front or just slotting in lane 1 and hoping they go fast.

Trying to get the miles in this weekend without overdoing it. Lovely run along the river then back past the Bombardier Brewery now enjoying a nice beer (not Bombardier but same brewer).

Running 1:07:55 intensity: (55:55 @2) + (12:00 @5) 15.08 km (4:30 / km) +68m 4:24 / km
shoes: Asics flats

Early session as got work stuff all day and evening.
WU then drills on killing fields before track opened at 7.30 then went to track and all of Meadowbank was closed.
Did it on killing fields instead. Bit slippy in flats with the dew. Then also there was a crazy dog on some of the later reps.

4×3×60sec[30,3min].
Felt tired but okay. I wanted to get an idea of how fast I could do a 1500 today. Yet not possible in these conditions so gonna have to wing it a bit on Saturday.
