Optimistic before start but... The guy who led the first lap is supposedly a consistent 15.00 runner. Except he ran the first lap in 80! Nothing I could do except feel like I was jogging along boxed in on the inside. On the second lap went into 3rd place and realised there was a problem. The wind! So although the first 3km felt easy I probably wouldn't have ran any faster going to the front. Leading the next km felt like harder work but not too bad. Thought I'd saved something for the last km but got overtaken at this point and just didn't have another gear to go with him so had to settle for 2nd.
