Orienteering race 34:00 [4] ***** 4.5 km (7:33 / km)
shoes: New Balance X Terrain

Ankle didn't really want to go for a run but decided to go out as it was only a short course. As soon as I stepped off the path going to one i jarred it again and lost the leading pack.

Kept going and was clean on first few controls and ankle settled down again. Think I was leading mens short at control 5 but made a 5 minute error on 6. Went charging through green, no idea where I was going. eventually got to other side but couldn't relocate and went left and more found the control by chance than anything. I should off gone off the ride bend.

As the team was non comp I just jogged the remaining bit and came in 4 minutes down. Should have done sub 30.

O and my right shoes sole half came off going to 11 which was annoying.

British Champs at Culbin

Great area. Legs felt really heavy for first few k and was feeling a bit tired. Lost about 4 minutes in total, witn about a minute in the green area at the end.

Caught Mike up at 14. Didn't feel like I was runnign any faster with him than I was before. He'd get ahead but then I'd catch him up near the control, as though he was waiting for me to lead him into it, which I did.

Stood on a branch funny going to 16 which my ankle really didn't like and after a bit of limping carried on. Eventually the pain subsided after a few controls.

Almost lost it at 22. Was following a bearing round the side of the hill, dropped down and for some reason couldn't figure out where'd I'd gone. Eventually carried on along the bearing and ended up on top of a hill in some semi-open and worked out where I was. Didn't lose that much time but even so was annoyed to have lost concentration.

Lost Mike going along the path to 26 (he was ahead) Kept seeing him in the green. In my haste to get out of 27, I went slightly further right than i intended and wasted a bit of time relocating. Was also a bit too far right on 29.

Was about 4 mins behind hector, 2 behind doug, 1 behind rhodri.

Would have been good to get in top 3 but at least I'm getting closer.

Running 10:00 [3]
shoes: New Balance X Terrain

Was at the start with plenty of time which was probably another reason I had a good run.

Was back at Tattenhall finishing off map and went back up to burwardsley after. Ran opposite way down across the fields then back up through the wood, along to the end, round the top, down the castle drive and back across to the track and back.

Lots of hills, which was good.
