Orienteering race 1:29:53 [4] ***** 9.6 km (9:22 / km) +360m 7:53 / km
shoes: New Balance X Terrain

I won't be wanting to repeat that performance next week.

I overtook the guy 2 minutes ahead of me three times (I think) so not a good race. Was feeling really tired beforehand but still shouldn't have made as many mistakes. Did a bit of walking as well which was more down to lack of enthusiasm after making such a mess of the first loop in the woods.

Map was pretty difficult to understand. Sometimes the wooded limestone pavement is marked as rock and other times its mapped as wood so no idea how I was suppose to tell what I was about to come across. But thats just an excuse and I really should have done better.

Running warm up/down 25:00 [3] 4.0 km (6:15 / km)

Running 45:00 [4] 9.0 km (5:00 / km)

Was mapping at Tattenhall in morning so went along to Burwardsley for over the hills and in the woods. Went over Bulkeley, anticlockwise round Raw Head (some new wooden steps going down to a spring), then back round the bottom of Bulkeley and back to Burwardsley.

Could feel the quads working hard near the end.

Badminton 1:00:00 [3]

Doubles, so easier than normal, but still good. Though I didn't play that well.

Orienteering 1:10:00 [3] ***** 9.0 km (7:47 / km)
shoes: New Balance X Terrain

Halkyn

Raining all the way there but as soon as i jumped out it stopped and blue sky appeared. Great area and not too bad a map allowed some good control flow, but became a bit sloppy at the end, wasn't following the bearings accurately.

Legs felt tired, but nothing hurt which was good.

Not entirely sure what time I started, even though I remember looking at my watch...

Running 20:00 [3] 4.0 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: New Balance X Terrain

After I finished ran south over the steep hill then round the back of the quarry.

Running 30:00 [1]
shoes: New Balance X Terrain

Jumped some water and strained front of hip. Not a great idea. Was getting better before that. Stretching, ic and ib afterwards seemed to have helped so should be running again tomorrow.
