Orienteering race 14:41 [5] 2.8 km (5:15 / km)
shoes: New Balance X Terrain

Lost quite a bit of time, after a good start.

I seemed to waste ages on punching each control properly. Dropped the brick on a few controls as my hands were so numb I couldn't feel what I was doing with it.

Then to cap it all I miss a control out. Three controls in a straight line and I miss the first one out. Gutted really.

Orienteering race 12:55 [5] 2.4 km (5:23 / km)

Better run than the morning. Was in the E final but decided to try and run as fast as possible anyway. Wasted a bit of time on no.3 and again lost time punching controls even though I had given up with the back up card. Had to go back twice because I couldn't tell whether it had registered. So with SI would have been half a minute quicker, which seems unfair as people using this system more regularly have a clear advantage.

Orienteering race 42:31 [5] 6.5 km (6:32 / km)
shoes: Twisters

Didn't hit the first 3 cleanly but then got into the swing of things.

Lost a minute on 13, was too far right.

Lost 1.5 minutes at 19. Must have been a few metres from control, couldn't see it, ran up re-entrant, saw path, went back down and found it.

Lost 15secs on 20 as taped shoe lace came undone.

Lost a bit on 21.

Winsplits shows good up until 17 then crashed. Bit gutted to get most of the way round just for it to fall a part but at least it shows I'm heading in the right direction. Had three fastest splits on M20, two of which were longish legs. Hopefully at FCC final will be able to pull it out the bag, and have got some new shoes that don't give me blisters.

Just a gentle jog, with z. Checked out a few things for the map on the way round.

Running 23:00 [3] 4.5 km (5:07 / km)
shoes: New Balance X Terrain

Took the Warwick map out with me and planned some legs while I was running.

Hopefully I will be able to keep my head this weekend and have some decent runs.

Orienteering 41:00 [3] 7.7 km (5:19 / km)
shoes: New Balance X Terrain

Some oing on Thurstaston with Dave. Planned some control picks and then some long legs over the heath.

Overshot one on the long legs due to me trying to be clever thinking I knew where I was when I was actually somewhere else. Also a bit wrong on th last control, I blame the map. Whole thing needs remapping, although slightly better than it was last year.

Running 28:00 [2] 4.2 km (6:40 / km)
shoes: New Balance X Terrain

Couldn't be bothered trying to o round the map again, or run over the heather, so just went for a jog round the area again.

Running 25:00 [2] 5.0 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: New Balance X Terrain

With z for some of it

Different loop as most of the far field is ploughed now. To cafe then down canal short way and through wood. Path in the ride has just about disappeared so a bit of terrain running.

Calf was sore this morning, worse to touch, but was ok running.
