Right ankle was playing around a bit, especially at beginning.

At about 8.5k right hip felt a bit strange so jogged a slower after that.

Orienteering race 56:51 [4] *** 8.0 km (7:06 / km)
shoes: New Balance X Terrain

Swynnerton Old Park (POTOC)

Brown course, map was awful. 2 paths were missing, so wasted 1 minute at one control and then had to run through brambles when the second path wasn't there. Lost some more time going straight across a large open area where the bracken got higher and higher the further I went down the path, should have taken track around, would have saved 1-2mins.

TomB beat me by about 1.5 minutes. If the map had been better and I had taken the path option to 14 would have done about the same time. The training seems to be paying off. Felt a lot better than last week.

Orienteering 1:07:00 [3] *** 10.4 km (6:27 / km)
shoes: New Balance X Terrain

Trains exercise at Delamere with TomB and MatthewV. Lots of terrain running, small bit on paths and the final 1.5 was a run back to the car.

Calf felt fine, bit of a surprise but good. Felt upper right quad a bit at the beginning and jarred left ankle, still not fully recovered from spraining it at JEC last year.

Badminton 1:00:00 [3]

Massage 10:00 [1]

Still some calf pain although noticeably better than yesterday. Decided not to run and just play some badminton this evening, which was fine on the calfs.

Massage 15:00 [1]

Right calf feels tight again today. Left one has joined it to, although not as bad. Massaged it as well as putting a heat pack on seemed to reduce the problem slightly.

Running 30:00 [3] 6.0 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: New Balance X Terrain

Run with dad.

Massaged calf beforehand. Took it slowly to make sure I didn't cause any more damage. Felt the right one a few times.

Physio verdict is I might just have done to much over the weekend and Monday. Keep it steady for the the next few days. So much for a hard training week.

Cycling 1:40:00 [3] 22.0 km (4:33 / km)

Took it slowly, last time I cycled I damaged my right shin and couldn't train for 5 weeks. Anyway it seemed to be ok today.

Calf was a bit tight today but cycling didn't effect it much.

Went to Heswall along the cycle route.

Running 48:00 [3] 10.0 km (4:48 / km)
shoes: New Balance X Terrain

Didn't think I'd do too much today, as still felt tired from yest, but ended up running the most I've done from home this year. Felt pretty good considering having run yest.

Canal was mostly all frozen and the ducks were taking skating lessons.

Orienteering race 1:14:49 [4] 9.7 km (7:43 / km) +310m 6:39 / km
shoes: New Balance X Terrain

Regional at Beaudesert - 21L
About 7.5 mins of mistakes. Running speed was a bit slow, especially after the 5k mark. Good practice anyway.

TomB's GPS said he'd done 11.1, so about 15% more than direct route.
