Training Log Archive: Jethro

Managed a few other less notable walks during the week - in between eating drinking and socialising :-) Back to work for a rest.

Walk with 5 other Trekkers up the Ben Alligin ridge. Three of the party were novices on this type of walk so the pace was fairly steady. Relatively cool but not too much wind. Fairly clear so views were stunning in every direction - a crackin day out! Garmin died coming off the ridge - actually out for ~7.5 hours.

Weeks walking holiday with the "Teviothead Trekkers". Managed to fit in a wee run from our "cottage" while the others were dithering about what to do. Weather pretty foul but very atmospheric in the corrie below Beinn Bhan. Had intended climbing out of the corrie to the top but cloud was so low I couldn't see a safe route up the back wall - it looked scarely steep in the mist!. In any case I was getting very wet and cold by this stage.

Walk with the "Trekkers" up to Corrie Mhic Fhearchair in Torridon. Wind was fearsome up in the corrie - to the extent it was blowing people off their feet. Had to retreat on hands and knees! Better lower down and only a few nasty showers. Views impressive.

SOL 6 - Forvie - Blue (M60). Bad overshoot at 3 and poor relocation - 5 mins.
Off line at 9 - should have used compass instead of trying to read contours - surprised to only lose 1 min. Matt Gooch 40.38 FFS! DonP 53.49
