Hill running 39:49 [3] 5.8 km (6:52 / km) +251m 5:38 / km
shoes: Mudclaw 265 R

Bowanhill hilly route with a couple of detours. Efforts on the hills. Murph came too, even although he had already been for a walk - must be the fittest dog in Teviotdale!

Trail running 1:20:48 [3] 13.57 km (5:57 / km) +327m 5:19 / km
shoes: Saucony Peregrine 6

Birkiebrae, Falnash & Lairhope forest. Took a different route to explore a new track at the top of Falash forest road. Went to almost boundary fence from where I picked up a shooters quad track and eventually dropped back down onto forest road. Then track/path through by top pond. Nice variety. Murphy for company.

Orienteering race 42:25 [3] *** 4.9 km (8:39 / km) +175m 7:21 / km
spiked:18/26c shoes: X-Claw 275

SOL 1, Mugdock (or is that Dogmuck?), Blue (M60). Very much a middle race, both in distance and style of planning. Lots of short legs, loops & changes of direction. Possibly the best way to make use of this type of area. Lots of fiddly detail - features, particularly crags were a lot larger on the ground than the map suggested. Path network became quite confusing with all the changes of direction. 2nd on Blue (Matt Gooch 37.11), 1st M60 - DonP 46.21, Reiver 46.36, Bob D 46.58 - good packing from the rest of the doddery auld men! Managed to stay ahead of the W18's - just!

Warm up/Warm down 34:04 [3] 5.14 km (6:38 / km) +78m 6:10 / km
shoes: X-Claw 275

Had time to kill waiting for Lyndsey to finish so went for a wee run round some of the tracks and paths on the area on the north side of the road
