Trail 1:41:00 [3] 12.3 km (8:13 / km) +610m 6:35 / km
shoes: Hoka Red

Tapotupotu to SH1 via Pandora Track.
Visited Cape Reinga at very north tip of North Island and was too tempted by the two tracks emanating from there . One headed south and one east. Both had good point to point opportunities for something long but went with the latter, and starting from Tapotupotu, as it gave better opportunities for T to get a run in as well and then drive round to meet me at the point where the Pandora Track met State Highway 1.
Smashing start from the very picturesque bay, across a series of board walks through mangroves and then starting climbing as the track followed the coast. Turned into a tough old route with lots of undulations with the cloud coming and going.
Views not great today. Slipperyy mud in places too. Pretty tired by the end and glad I hadn't chosen a longer option .

Trail / Terrain Run 36:00 [3]
shoes: Hoka Red

Scrabbling about a bit for somewhere to satisfactorily run tonight. Near Pukenui and almost all is private land with the main road as an alternative. Eventually went down to the Hourhora by the campsite and being low tide could run on the flats in the lovely evening light beside the fishermen and the occasionally fishing boat heading out.
14x 1mins/30...ran out of space for longer. In and out of the tidal pools somewhat but well worthwhile and fun.
Tempo run back up to the main road after.

Northland:Tapeka and Russell including Flagstaff Hill. Good to get some activity in. Cracking day. Great views. Sun on the back. Feeling good towards the end... Getting the air miles out of the legs.

Kayak 30:00 [3]

Paddling up the Waitangi. Not overly energetic. Out for two hours.
