One of the years targets. Just because it's now the local race, its a great course, apparently was a fun local social occasion, and I missed it in the inaugural running last year. Not disappointed.
Battle of the Ballogie Runners. SW, neighbour 1 disappeared off from the start, no 2, IW, soon left me too, but no 3, MT, and I battled things out for the duration.
Really nice to have a hill race that doesn't start by running straight up a hill too. Lovely route running through the Finzean Woods. Still tailing MT as we crossed the road at the memorial. Up and out of the forest and into a bit of rain. Got a feel for how things stood on the out and back summit section. SW well away, IW about 60s ahead maybe but I had a wee gap on AR and NH. Its a great run down the south path of Toms Cairn, and a fairly rapid last 1500m, only interrupted by a short uphill road section. Left MT just before the road and that was it. Happy to close out 1st v60, and save face by not being last of the Ballogie Runners. :-)
Well recommended...especially the cake and chat after. And I won some beer. 120+ entries for a race in its 2nd year..not bad.
..it just remained to go and collect the road signs.
