Note

A fair bit of scything in between the showers. Not sure it's strengthening or conditioning any part of me that I normally use, but I'll feel it tomorrow.

Trail / Terrain Run 35:00 [3] 4.5 km (7:47 / km)

Up the back...very much slow recovery in the wet.

Wednesday Sep 6 #

Mtn Bike 20:00 [3] 5.6 km (3:34 / km)

In to Derry Lodge. Weather can't make up its mind. Cloudy, raining, and sunny. And very blustery.

Trail / Terrain Run 2:26:00 [3] 16.3 km (8:57 / km) +850m 7:06 / km
shoes: Mudclaw 300 b/r

Needed a long one and weather forecast seemed mixed but potentially worth a trip up the valley. Had decided on Carn a'Mhaim with the possibility of extending it to Macdui and returning via Derry Cairngorm or Loch Etchacan and the Hutchison hut.
Nice and steady up to the Luibeg Burn. Didn't need to get my feet wet. Steady up the climb too. Sun out in the Lairig Ghru and a nice full rainbow with one end at Corrour. Very strong wind though, pretty cold with a bit of rain, and also cloudy higher up so regretfully decided to skip the stretch options and head down via Allt Carn'a Mhaim. Pretty slow through the heather and tussocky grass until catching the path beside the Luibeg burn. Felt reasonably strong on the way back to Derry Lodge.

Mtn Bike 16:00 [3] 5.6 km (2:51 / km)

Nice spin back to Linn of Dee.

Note

Feeling the London roads in my legs this morning. Fun to enjoy them on an infrequent basis.
Lost the family Ben Nevis record on Saturday.:-( . Interestingly my time in '86 would have got me 29th on Saturday but was only good for 165th back then. 489 competitors on Saturday and 483 back then. Thought provoking at least.

Trail 30:00 [3] 5.4 km (5:33 / km)

Back to school.
Aboyne AAC session. Just 30 today :-) Out the Tarland Way and back.

Road Running 42:00 [3] 8.5 km (4:56 / km)

Across Vauxhall Bridge but then got caught out by construction round Battersea Power Station. Went round by the dogs home and finally made Battersea Bridge. Back along to Vauxhall Bridge and on to Lambeth Bridge. Turned back there round the back of Millbank Tower and returned through the back streets to the Westminster School cricket ground that is an amazing 10 acres in the middle of everything. Quick...ish.
